Bloomberg Technoz, Jakarta – Kebijakan Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri (TKDN) sering dianggap sebagai solusi untuk menumbuhkan industri manufaktur dan menarik investasi. Namun, dalam kasus Apple Inc, pendekatan ini justru menunjukkan kelemahan daya saing Indonesia dibandingkan negara-negara tetangga seperti Vietnam dan Malaysia.
Peneliti Makroekonomi dan Pasar Keuangan di LPEM FEB UI, Teuku Riefky, menilai bahwa Indonesia perlu lebih fokus pada peningkatan daya saing dibandingkan terus mengandalkan TKDN.
“Tapi memang karena komponen mereka itu memiliki daya saing. Sehingga bisa meningkat [TKDN-nya]. Nah itu [baru] market mechanism,” jelas Teuku, dikutip Jumat (6/12/2024).
Terlebih, menurutnya, dibandingkan negara-negara BRICS misalnya, Indonesia memiliki tingkat penerapan TKDN yang jauh lebih tinggi. Namun, kebijakan ini tidak selalu efektif dalam meningkatkan daya tarik investasi.
Bahkan, negara-negara berkembang lain seperti Vietnam, Malaysia, dan Taiwan yang berhasil menarik investasi besar tidak terlalu mengandalkan TKDN, melainkan mengoptimalkan daya saing produk lokal mereka.
