Ministry of Finance Affirms Commitment to Fight Smuggling: Customs Confiscates 102 iPhones, Including iPhone 16

Illegal iPhone 16 smuggling continues to be a challenge for Indonesia. The Ministry of Finance (MoF) through the Directorate General of Customs and Excise has reaffirmed its commitment in preventing the entry of illegal goods into the country. One of the latest actions is the confiscation of 102 iPhone units, including the iPhone 16 which is currently still declared illegal for sale in Indonesia. Finding of Illegal iPhones from Batam to Jakarta Director General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance, Askolani, revealed that the 102 iPhone units were secured when they were brought from Batam to Jakarta through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. During the press conference, Askolani confirmed that all confiscated goods from this smuggling action will not be auctioned by the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN), but will be destroyed completely.
