The Fate of iPhone 16 in Indonesia: What Happened?

The launch of the iPhone 16 in Indonesia is still a mystery. Although it has been released globally, Apple's latest flagship device has not received official permission to be marketed in the country. The main reason is that the iPhone's TKDN (Domestic Component Level) license requirement has not been fulfilled. According to the Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang, Apple still has outstanding investment obligations of USD 10 million or around Rp 158 billion. This makes the TKDN license cannot be granted by the Indonesian government. In his statement to the media, Agus emphasized that this repayment is an absolute requirement. "As long as he has not paid off, the license cannot be issued," Agus explained.
